ENERGY STAR® Quality Installation: Central Air Conditioning
Hyde’s AC is one of only a few HVAC contractors in Southern California to receive the EnergyStar® Residential Quality Installation certification from Southern California Edison (SCE).
You may be familiar with the ENERGY STAR® label to help you select efficient heating and air conditioning equipment. As an ENERGY STAR® Quality Installation provider, Hyde’s must adhere to a rigorous menu of AC system planning and installation points that helps ensure that your heating and cooling equipment will operate to its fullest potential, and that your entire cooling system is working in harmony to deliver the most comfort for your investment.
Many believe that bigger is better when buying new heating and cooling equipment, but your system should be a custom fit for your home. A properly sized system will keep you comfortable and operate efficiently.
At Hyde’s, we pride ourselves on the expertise of our installation team.
We devote many hours to on-the-job and factory training to prepare our technicians for any installation challenge.
Before we even begin an installation, we take the time to size the air conditioning system properly so it matches the requirements of your home.
We provide you with a written contract detailing the main elements of your installation, including the results of a cooling load calculation.
We back our work with a written warranty on equipment and workmanship, and a money-back guarantee.
We are certified, so you save
Because of our designation under the EnergyStar® AC Residential Quality Installation program, Hyde’s is eligible to offer our customers incentives of up to $500 when you install a new high-efficiency air conditioning system. Palm Desert residents can qualify for up to $750. Other area residents who are SCE customers may be eligible for rebates up to $1250.

The goal of an ENERGY STAR® Quality Installation is to put your home in the top 5% in the nation in terms of even, year-round indoor comfort and optimum IAQ (Indoor Air Quality). Not every home can claim that! But every Hyde’s customer can expect to receive service that meets the highest standard of professionalism and workmanship. We do the job right, from the day we come to spec out the system, to the day we switch it on.
Why choose an ENERGY STAR qualified installer like Hyde's?
GET DEPENDABILITY
You'll avoid installation problems that could reduce the life of your equipment. Modern furnaces, heat pumps and air conditioners are designed to deliver years of service, but incorrect sizing or installation can put stress on system components and shorten equipment life.
GET ENERGY EFFICIENCY
You'll avoid common installation problems that can reduce the efficiency of your equipment. The charts below show that equipment will perform better when installed to ENERGY STAR guidelines.
GET COMFORT
You'll avoid common comfort problems caused by poor quality installations. The guidelines specify that heating and air conditioning equipment is properly sized using standard industry methods and ensure that its duct system is properly sealed.
Poorly installed duct systems can also cause comfort problems. Holes and gaps in air ducts and disconnected duct connections will reduce the amount of air delivered to each room. Sealing air leaks and balancing air flows between rooms can help ensure your heating or cooling system delivers comfort throughout your home.
