Dear Friends,
As some of you may know, our father, Brian Hyde, passed away. While we are saddened by our loss and miss Dad dearly, we have also had time to reflect on his life and accomplishments. We are comforted that his was a long life, well-lived.
Mom and Dad emigrated from England to Canada in 1955, and in 1959 moved to Chula Vista, California. Dad became a U.S. citizen in 1967 and in 1972 opened Hyde’s Quality Appliance. By the early 1980s, we had moved to Palm Desert and added air conditioning repair and sales to our appliance repair business.
Our father was an integral part of the company’s direction and growth though the 1990s. Throughout his life, he remained active in the business. Whatever needed to be done, Dad was there to do it.
Brian Hyde was a man of vision. Once he set his sights on something, he worked hard to achieve it. But whatever he did in his life, he did it with honesty and respect for his fellow man.
At his memorial service, I shared a verse from Proverbs 20:7— “The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” Dad taught us that if you treat your customers right, and you do good work and stand behind that work, you will create loyal customers.
Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts about our father, and thanks for being a loyal Hyde’s customer.
Warmly,

Michael Hyde
