Danny Hyde, son of Michael Hyde, has been an employee of Hydes for almost 14 years. Danny has grown up in the HVAC family business and is NCI certified. He enjoys meeting new customers while on the job performing system maintenance, repairs and heat load calculations. Danny also might look familiar as he appears on our company vans, in our print advertising and in some of our commercials, which he enjoys being a part of!

Comfort ac service on two Trane 2017 split systems. Fau located inside hallway attic. Bedroom system is zoned. Thermostats are 1050s. Replaced customer supplied 4” media filters in attic. Flushed condensation line in attic. Checked all accounts components, volts, amps and 30/7.5 capacitors. Found both capacitors outside their range. Found bedroom system has hard start kit but area doesn’t. Washed condenser coils, ductless coils and filters. Condensers located on south side of home. Advised client on capacitors and hard start kits. Client would like work done however tech didn’t have both capacitors. Need to return to preform work. Signed up on yearly agreement.

Upon arrival client stated bedroom system doesn’t run often and living area never turns off. Issue is due to thermostat location. Thermostat right outside master bedroom door is the living area thermostat. Thermostat in entry is for the bedrooms. Rewired thermostat at the fau so now the thermostat outside the master bedroom door is for the bedrooms and the thermostat in the entry is now the living area. Cycled both systems properly running.

Comfort ac service on 2003 Trane fau with r410a 2015 Heil condenser/coil. Fau located inside the garage and condenser on roof, access no ladder needed. Checked all heater and safety components. Checked all ac components and temperature split. Flushed condensation line, washed condenser coils and replaced filter in fau. Found blower capacitor rated for 10uf and outside it’s range at 8.6 uf, replaced and tested. Upon cycling ac found the outdoor fan motor not running. Found fan motor not running due to dual run capacitor dead, replaced capacitor and tested. Signed up on yearly maintenance program. Client is selling the home. Advised new homeowner can receive the next maintenance.

Upon arrival client stated living area thermostat blank. Found power at the fau. Found 10 flash code stating communication issue. Found 24 volts from r and c. Found 12 volts dc on d and c. Pulled thermostat off the wall and found voltage on wires under pin connector. Found no voltage at the pin connector. Found bad backplate, replaced back plate. Put old tstat on new backplate and found thermostat not turning on. Found voltage at pins. Installed new thermostat and everything worked. Advised on possible surge issue. Electrical depart is going to be installing surge protection. Checked bedroom system and found system going off on limit switch. Found high static pressure before the coil and very low after. Found static pressure issue is due to existing building plenum goes from square to round and not allowing enough airflow to go through. Need to cut out old building plenum and install square to round. Sent over estimate. Advised electrical depart to call and schedule surge. See picture
