Upon arrival found Lennox unit calling for cool but only condenser fan motor and blower motor operating compressor was not operating. Checked recently installed capacitor and start kit. Both components are good and well within range. Also checked compressor windings for continuity and discovered compressor winding was open and compressor overheated. Cooled off compressor, but compressor still would not start. We will be returning Monday to recheck compressor, giving compressor more time to fully cool off

Today’s annual cooling preventative maintenance consisted of one American standard platinum unit. I first began with replacing the 20 x 30 filter in the home to ensure that proper airflow is able to circulate back to the system at minimal resistance. I then verify that the 1050 thermostat is properly calling for cooling with no error, codes or messages occurring on the system. All of the cooling sequence of operations are successfully checking out verifying there is a proper 20° split between the liquid line and the suction line which verifies that the home is cooling efficiently to the desire temperature. I also cleared the condensation line to ensure that it is properly draining at this time. . The amps of the system are checking out in the correct range verifying a controlled voltage is being used safely following with the system on the mitigation board not having any error codes or messages on there. I then thoroughly wash the coils down of the system to remove all the dirt and deb

Installed a 4 Ton American Standard Silver 14 SEER Heat Pump Condenser Only.
Arrived to diagnose AC breaker tripping every time the unit starts up. Inspected breaker and outdoor unit and noticed the unit had a minimum amperage of 30.3 and max of 50. The wires to the AC are #8 gauge wires which are good for a 40 amp circuit. I advised the customer to upsize the breaker. When removing the original breaker I noticed overheating on the internal components of the breaker which could be a part of the issue. We installed the new 20/40 quad breaker and had customer turn his AC on. The breaker did not trip. As I was checking the voltage in the disconnect I noticed the condenser making a humming/buzzing noise but did not start up. I had 240 volts on the line and load side of the disconnect as well as the fuses. I believe there is a issue with the condenser.
Diagnostic on 2016 American standard. Loss of 24v electrical circuit. Ohmed out control wires in attic. Located and repaired electrical circuit. Equipment now operating properly. Verified sequence of operation is working properly according to manufacturer specifications.
