Heating and Cooling Service FAQs
It costs around $3,500-$12,000+ to replace an air conditioning unit in Palm Springs, CA. Price will vary based on several factors:
- The size of your house.
- The type of air conditioning unit you have installed.
- The cost to remove your current AC unit.
Getting your current air conditioning unit replaced is a good way to improve the climate control in your home and also cut down on energy and repair costs.
Your AC unit may be running but not cooling your home in Palm Springs, CA because:
- Your air filters are blocked
- Your AC unit has a refrigerant leak
- Your evaporator coil is dirty or frozen
If your AC unit is running but not cooling your home, there may be a deeper issue going on with your air conditioner. If you replace your air filters and set your thermostat correctly and it is still not working properly, you should have an HVAC technician repair your AC unit.
Minor HVAC repairs, such as fuses, breakers or thermostat replacement, cost between $150 and $290.ย You can expect to spend $200 to $1,500 on substantial repairs such as repairing a refrigerant leak or evaporator coil.
Additional heating and cooling repairs will increase the cost, but keeping your furnace and central air conditioning system in good working order will save you money in the long run. The cost of air conditioning repair will also vary depending on the size of your home and the brand and type of heating and cooling system you have installed.
For simple tune-ups, regular AC maintenance costs $75 to $200.ย Extended service contracts range from $150 to $500 and cover the entire HVAC system, including heating and cooling.
Maintenance calls typically include cleaning the condenser and performing a series of checks to ensure that your system is operating properly. We'll also look for other repair and maintenance issues. Standard AC tune-ups do not usually include evaporator coil or duct cleaning.
The best time to have AC maintenance done is in spring, but if your air conditioning tune-up was overlooked, you can have it done anytime during summer to improve your ACโs performance.

Todayโs annual cooling preventative maintenance consisted of one American standard unit at first, began with replacing both filters in the home to ensure that proper air flow is able to circulate back to the system at minimal resistance. I then ensure that the thermostat is properly calling for cooling and turning the unit on with no errors occurring all of the cooling sequence of operations are successfully checking out verifying that there is a proper 20° split and I cleared the condensation line thoroughly via Jonesville verifying that it is properly draining at this time of service. 📡โ๏ธ Demand Service โ No Cool Upon arrival, I was informed that the thermostat was set to 73°, but the home temperature was not dropping below setpoint. 🔍 Performed system evaluation and checked refrigerant pressures. โข Subcool measured at 8° โข System currently operational 🏠 Further inspection revealed the furnace is located in an exterior mechanical closet with a non-insulated access door. Due to extreme outdoor temperatures, the system is likely pulling in excessive hot air from outside the enclosure, negatively affecting performance. 📐 Also observed that the home has a very small return air opening for the size of the house, restricting airflow throughout the system. 🗣๏ธ Spoke with caregiver regarding findings and recommended enlarging the return air opening to improve airflow and overall system efficiency. Advised that, while improvements may help system performance, results may still be limited due to equipment location and the design of manufacture home. Attached is a es

I bought a cute condo in the historic building Ocotillo Lodge from 1959 and I think that my air conditioner although running well at this moment is approximately 19 years old I didnโt know really what to expect but I certainly didnโt think it would be positive. Alex did a fantastic job and seemed incredibly knowledgeable about what was to happen next and I concurred with him, which was one of the first times ever with an air-conditioning specialist. He didnโt try to oversell me. I merely asked for some estimates of new air-conditioning systems which he returned relatively easily. His explanations were clear and concise, and when he left, I understood exactly what was going on, and what I needed to do in the future. I did have a Nest type thermostat and I need to get that put on there. However he needed to do some research on that which I can appreciate. I am going to follow up just to make sure that we hopefully do it no later than mid next week or so.
Thanks for the thorough review and we are so glad to hear that your first experience with an HVAC professional was a great one.
