Maurice, did an excellent job. I explained the issue to him and he had my system up and running quickly. Explained what I need to check etc. Amazing work and professional. Great service from Hyde’s always.
Upon arrival, member stated that around 4 AM condensing unit was extremely loud and blower motor not operating. Equipment was set to off, cycled equipment verified volts and amps and refrigerant levels with temperature split 20° verified condensation line was cleared and system not going off on the safety switch verified filter is clean and not obstructing air circulation. Informed a member if issue presents itself again to record to help diagnose issue. System is cooling and operating per manufacturers specification.
Upon arrival found system serial number 5F4F calling for cool but bowling indoor unit coming on. Upon further inspection found condenser fan motor, spinning backwards and compressor not operating. Upon further inspection found swollen 45/5 MFD capacitor. Replace capacitor under warrenty and tested equipment found starting amps exceeding specifications added compressor saver kit to assist compressor at startup. Verified electrical components, system is now cooling and operating.

Today’s first annual cooling preventative maintenance consist of one r-22 system located in the backyard. I first began with, ensuring that the filter has been replaced to ensure that proper airflow is able to circulate back to the system of minimal resistance. I then verified that the nest thermostat is properly calling for cooling and turning the unit on with no errors occurring. All of the cooling sequence of operations are successfully checking out verify there is a proper 20° split between a liquid line in the suction line which ensures that the home is cooling officially to the desire temperature. The amps on the system are successfully checking out in the correct range verifying there’s a proper controlled voltage being used following with the new capacitor testing out safely for its rated range. Filter installed on the face of gas furnace. Thermostat located in the hallway. Checked refrigerant circuit diagnostic (documented in photos). Checked running capacitor and electric motors. Performed annual cooling maintenance on a 2014 Day n Night 5 ton split system. FAU is located in the attic. Replaced 20x30 filter located in hallway ceiling. Followed sequence of operations and checked voltage, amperage, capacitor, temperature split, Freon levels, cleared condensation line, and rinsed condenser coils. Everything checked out in range. Client stated condenser was making noise, all amperage for compressor and fan are within manufacture specs. Noise sounds like normal operation. Thermostat checked out operational. Diagnostic on 2006 equipment. Fan motor non operational. Performed diagnostic and found blown fuse also weak capacitors. Replaced parts and tested operation. Equipment is operational at this time. Advised equipment is in poor condition well past life expectancy and fan motor is in very poor condition. Signed up on maintenance plan to save on repairs. Advised to call and schedule maintenance service when ready for service.
Diagnostic on 2014 outdoor ac unit with 30 plus year old furnace. Equipment running on arrival with only 13 degrees temperature split, which should be 18-20 degrees for proper cooling. Existing equipment in very poor condition. Found filter completely plugged, also found evaporator coil completely plugged causing unit not to cool properly. Blower motor in very poor condition full of dirt and debris. Tenant mentioned she thought outdoor ac unit was recently replaced. Advised outside unit is 2014 model and was a used unit. Do to extremely poor condition of existing equipment highly recommend full system replacement to avoid continuous costly breakdowns. Second option is to replace evaporator coil. Attached photos below. Contacted home owner and advised on repairs. Will schedule to replace equipment once estimate for replacement is approved through email.
