The air filter is located in the hallway ceiling, and the furnace (FAU) is located in the laundry room in an upflow. Checked thermostat operation and verified proper system response in cooling mode. Flushed the condensate drain line to ensure proper drainage and prevent potential clogs. At the condenser, inspected and verified voltage and amperage readings, including compressor and fan motor operation. Measured compressor startup amperage and recommended installation of a hard start kit to reduce inrush current and improve startup efficiency; start kit was approved and installed successfully. Arrived at customer’s home to change out sizzling breakers for hvac install today. Replaced 30/15 quad with a 40/15 quad and a 50/15 quad with a new 50/15 quad. Noticed bussing burning up inside main breaker panel. Informed customer of this and offered to give a price for a panel change, but he said he’d get his church friend to fix it.

Upon arrival, client stated mini split located in Casita would make a noise when turning on and off. Turn system on and listen for noise. Noise seem to be coming from motorized louvers. Manually adjusted louvers and I could no longer hear the noise. Client is going to keep an eye on the system to see if he hears it again.

Performed a cooling maintenance on two platinum heat pump, one straight cool Lennox with garage mini split service. Replace filters, cleared condensate drain and washed outdoor units. Checked capacitors, electric motors and refrigerant circuit diagnostic. Disconnect/thermostats: good. No error code or notifications on CDA. Called client to go over issues. Client stated ecobee thermostat is set to 77 but reading 78 indoor and the unit not running. Advised on snowflake will be blue if unit is on. Advised on five minute compressor delay. Advised system can have a .5-1.5 temperature differential before kicking on. Recommend lowering compressor delay from 5 minutes to 2 minutes so system will maintain temperature at its set point. Will head out to take care of issue.

Craig was very nice and knowledgeable. I told him the reason I had missed my annual maintenance was that the email reminder I received from Hyde’s went directly into my trash folder. He informed me of the monthly maintenance payment plan. So I got setup on it and was able to schedule my furnace maintenance in December. And now that I m on the plan I can use Hyde’s website to automatically assist me in setting up my maintenance on both AC and furnace.
