Performed PTU on a 2014 micro channel 4ton condenser. Replaced Cust supplied 20x30 filter. Fau attic access is located in hallway. Cleared condensation line from fau. Followed sequence of operations and checked voltage, condenser fan motor amps, compressor start/run amps, capacitors, hard start kit, temperature split, Freon levels, and rinsed condenser coils. Secured all electrical connections. Found weak 7.5 uf fan capacitor reading below rated tolerance. Informed, recommended and installed new dual run 45/7.5 uf capacitor. Also recommended installing new hard start kit to prevent unit from over amping at start up and prevent any potential issues with compressor. Client declined hard start kit at this time. Thermostat checked out operational. System is working in cooling at this time of service.

Performed a cooling maintenance on a split system. Replace filters, cleared condensate and washed outdoor unit. Check capacitors, electric motors and refrigerant circuit diagnostic. Install Jones valve on primary drain line. Client enrolled in club membership – paid via check. Thermostat/disconnect box: good. System is cooling the home at the time of maintenance.

Arrived at customers, location, troubleshooting the switch, and the receptacle realize that only had 50 V coming through the switch came out to the main panel to to check voltage and the check breakers found two partially tripped breakers. One is labeled kitchen and washer and the other one was labeled garbage disposal they were partially tripped. Discovered also this is 100 amp panel. It is also very full. Recommend possible panel change out to give more space and availability and power for upgrades.

Upon arrival bedroom unit non-operational data plate completely faded out. System is a R 22 found indoor unit operational. Outdoor unit was non-operational . upon checking out outdoor unit found a failed run capacitor after replacing run. Capacitor system started up and started to cool down the house. Refrigeration levels at this time are in range. Client is more than aware of the age and condition of units. Inform client that system will continue to give issues as a system gets older.
