Installing 5 Ton American Standard Platinum 18 POV Upflow Split Heat Pump. Need to return to perform duct leakage test

Performed annual maintenance on the R-22 split system and Goodman 2023 4 ton split system. Replaced filters: 16 × 30 and 18 × 30. Checked system operation, including refrigerant levels, compressor amperage, motor amperage, starter amperage, and capacitors. The R-22 split system is currently running, but the client will contact the warranty company again regarding the ongoing issue. Found the capacitor on the R-22 system improperly secured and hanging with electrical tape. Mounted capacitor properly on the R22 unit to secure correctly. Recommended adding a hard start kit to take off strain on compressor at start up Cleared debris from the equipment and properly cleaned both condenser coils. Systems were tested after maintenance and are currently operating properly at this time. Reviewed and renewed the client on the Comfort Plan.

Performed annual preventative maintenance on the 3-ton 2021 American Standard Platinum Series split system. * Replaced 20x25 and 14x14 air filters. * Checked the 1050 thermostat; thermostat is operating within normal range, calling for cooling properly, with no active alerts. * Followed the system sequence of operation and inspected system performance. * Checked refrigerant levels, system sensors, compressor amperage, and outdoor fan motor amperage. * Checked the outdoor unit for active alerts; no alerts were found. * Washed down and cleaned the outdoor condenser coils. * Cleared the condensate drain line to help ensure proper drainage. * Verified overall system operation. Recommendation: Recommend installing surge protection on both the outdoor condenser and indoor equipment to help protect the system from electrical spikes, power outages, and related electrical events. System is operating properly at the time of service. No issues were found during today’s maintenance.

Upon arrival, found the Nest thermostat intermittently failing to call for cooling. The system operated properly when the thermostat was bypassed, indicating a thermostat-related issue. Recommendations Recommend installing a hard-start kit to help the compressor start more efficiently, reduce startup strain, and potentially decrease compressor startup noise. Also recommend replacing the existing Nest thermostat with an ecobee thermostat. The current Nest thermostat is experiencing intermittent issues with properly calling for cooling and will continue to cause system operation problems leaving you with no AC. Upon arrival, five ton R 22 system. outdoor unit was not getting 240 volts. Found a trip breaker turn breaker back on and system started up. Verify that run capacitors are good contactor, engages correctly, condenser fan motor and compressor and start off and slowly rise after the unit was running for about five minutes system compressor again, tripped breaker.
