Heating and Cooling Service FAQs
It costs around $3,500-$12,000+ to replace an air conditioning unit in Palm Springs, CA. Price will vary based on several factors:
- The size of your house.
- The type of air conditioning unit you have installed.
- The cost to remove your current AC unit.
Getting your current air conditioning unit replaced is a good way to improve the climate control in your home and also cut down on energy and repair costs.
Your AC unit may be running but not cooling your home in Palm Springs, CA because:
- Your air filters are blocked
- Your AC unit has a refrigerant leak
- Your evaporator coil is dirty or frozen
If your AC unit is running but not cooling your home, there may be a deeper issue going on with your air conditioner. If you replace your air filters and set your thermostat correctly and it is still not working properly, you should have an HVAC technician repair your AC unit.
Minor HVAC repairs, such as fuses, breakers or thermostat replacement, cost between $150 and $290. You can expect to spend $200 to $1,500 on substantial repairs such as repairing a refrigerant leak or evaporator coil.
Additional heating and cooling repairs will increase the cost, but keeping your furnace and central air conditioning system in good working order will save you money in the long run. The cost of air conditioning repair will also vary depending on the size of your home and the brand and type of heating and cooling system you have installed.
For simple tune-ups, regular AC maintenance costs $75 to $200. Extended service contracts range from $150 to $500 and cover the entire HVAC system, including heating and cooling.
Maintenance calls typically include cleaning the condenser and performing a series of checks to ensure that your system is operating properly. We'll also look for other repair and maintenance issues. Standard AC tune-ups do not usually include evaporator coil or duct cleaning.
The best time to have AC maintenance done is in spring, but if your air conditioning tune-up was overlooked, you can have it done anytime during summer to improve your AC’s performance.

Today’s annual maintenance consisted of one furnace unit located in a closet access I began with replacing the filter to ensure that proper airflow is returning back to the unit at minimum restrictions. I then cleared the condensation line, ensuring it is properly draining at this time the amps on the unit checked out in good range ensuring there is a controlled voltage being used throughout the system and all of the heating sequence of operation successfully checked out, igniting the flame properly safely and ensuring that the gas pressures are incorrect range the temperature supply was also providing the correct desire temperature the thermostat properly called for heat turn the unit on. I replaced the batteries for the client as well because the batteries were low on the thermostat. Overall the system is operating to the manufacturer standards at this time of service.
Today’s annual maintenance consisted of two upflow furnaces located in two separate closets. One is a day and night furnace and the other is an American standard furnace. Today’s annual maintenance consisted of two mini splits connected to one system. I began with washing the filters for each system to ensure proper air flow is being distributed with minimal restrictions. I placed the temperature to 78, to ensure the remotes are properly calling for heat to the units. Each system properly reached the correct desired temperature supply. The surge protection is also still in good condition with a green light. Client also brought it to my attention the casings covering the lines are slightly warped from the sun and became loose. I re secured the coverings with some small nails to ensure the lines are properly being covered. Overall the two mini splits are properly operating to manufacture standards at this time of service.
