Cleared condensation drains, capped one at a time so it doesn’t blow out the other, they’re connected. Venstar thermostats turning on equipment properly. Kitchen venstar has setpoint at. 78°, indoor temp 79° but not running, I checked and could not adjust temp thresholds , homeowner says she’s fine with it and used to it. Can replace with a simple Honeywell thermostat. Checked amps, volts, run capacitors, refrigerant/temp splits. Systems are cooling properly. Informed homeowner both compressors are pulling over their max rates start amps, thus overtime can wear down the motors, they take more energy and electricity to startup as they age. Recommended adding hard start kits to each system to assist compressors for smoother startups, prolonging their lives and reducing stress on the “hearts “ of the air conditioner

Verified refrigerant levels and took temperature splits and cycled equipment. Washed condensing coils and cleared condensation lines. With recommended repairs systems are now within manufacturers, specifications, and cooling and operating properly at this time of service.

Pulled out two 24 x 24 filters at FAU, the filters were very dirty which caused airflow restriction. Notified customer that putting in two filters in the FAU can cause air restriction, which can eventually stress or damage the system. Check system sequence of operation. Check compressor amps, check fan motor amps, check capacitor, checked Freon and pressure. Customer wanted me to acknowledge that when the system turns on it makes very loud noise. Upon maintenance, the equipment startup was very loud. Recommended customer put in hard start kit for a smoother and reduce some noise when start up. Notified customer the benefits of having a hard start kit. Customer agreed and signed estimate. Installed Hardstart kit and checked in rush. System is working per manufacture specs. Perform a cooling maintenance on two split system unit. Check sequence of operations by checking out all electrical and refrigeration levels at this time. Both systems are cooling down the house properly reaching temperatures of 73° on each thermostat, clean down conversation lines and finish maintenance by washing down both condenser units. No one home at a time of maintenance. Make sure to lock everything up the way Client wanted.

System is 40 years old with life expectancy of 10-15 years. System is showing signs of age with components all rusted out. Highly recommend free replacement estimate for major break down during hot weather leaving client without air.

Replaced disconnect box and was able to get unit to run. Highly recommend replacement of equipment to avoid multiple potential problems.
