Recent Review

Just wanted to thank you, and especially Chris. When Chris was out at my neighbors' last Friday, I went over (at 4:45 pm) and told him my split (which your company installed) was not putting out cold AC. I admitted that I had tried to do something with the control the day before and that was very likely the problem. He said he'd be right over when he finished the job he was on.

He came over, quickly fixed my mistake, and reexplained how to work the thing. All very positively and kindly after 5 pm on a Friday. What a guy!!!! Please thank him again.

Heating and Cooling Service FAQs

How much does it cost to replace my heating and air conditioning system near Palm Desert?

The average cost of replacing an HVAC or ductless system in Palm Desert ranges from $5,000 to $20,000. The price range is determined by a variety of criteria and options, such as system type, size, energy efficiency, time of year purchased, rebates/incentives, equipment manufacturer and labor/installation costs. If you also need to replace ductwork, you can expect to pay an extra for a single-story 2,200-square-foot home.

What maintenance does an air conditioner need in Palm Desert?

The filters and coils of an air conditioner must be maintained on a regular basis in order for the unit to work properly and efficiently during the course of its service life. Ignoring required maintenance results in a gradual deterioration in air conditioning effectiveness while increasing energy consumption.

The most crucial maintenance job for ensuring the effectiveness of your air conditioner is to change or clean its filters on a regular basis. The coils of an air conditioner naturally accumulate dirt over time. A clean filter keeps the coils from becoming too dirty to effectively cool your home. Regular maintenance ensures the filters and coils are clean and performing correctly.

How much does AC repair cost near Palm Desert?

The average household pays between $250 and $600 for AC repair. Pricing for this project varies considerably depending on the issue, part, and complexity of the project. Repairing a malfunctioning thermostat, for example, is likely to be less expensive than repairing a central AC system.

What are the benefits of a heat pump near Palm Desert?

Some advantages of installing a heat pump include being able to cool and heat your home (one unit), consuming less energy by being more efficient than a central AC unit and enhancing your indoor air quality.

How much does an indoor air quality test cost?

On average, indoor air quality testing costs between $250 and $300. Indoor air quality testing may detect the presence of numerous pollutants in your home’s air, such as mold and mildew. Contaminants from chemicals and combustion may also be tested for.

Upon arrival, found equipment operating but not cooling properly. Spoke with the homeowner, who provided a video showing the area where a refrigerant leak appeared to be present near the compressor. Performed further inspection and verified the leak using bubble leak-detection solution. Added refrigerant for testing purposes to confirm system conditions and pinpoint the source of the leak. Confirmed an active refrigerant leak at the compressor suction inlet/stub where the suction line enters the compressor body. Due to the location of the leak, compressor replacement is required. Compressor is confirmed to be under manufacturer warranty; however, labor and refrigerant are not covered under warranty. Attempted to contact the client to discuss findings and repair options but was unable to reach them. Left a voicemail informing the client of the diagnosis and that an estimate will be sent over for review. Estimate will need to be signed and approved prior to moving forward with compressor

Performed annual maintenance on two 2017 3.5-ton split systems. Replaced three 14” x 14” filters and two 16” x 16 filters.

Client stated that both thermostats would not allow the temperature to be set below 81°F. Client currently keeps the home around 83°F. Cycled both cooling systems and checked temperature split and operating pressures prior to adding refrigerant. Both systems are cooling properly and responding independently to their respective thermostats.

The thermostat operation and room sensors may require further evaluation, as the reported temperature-setting issue may be related to thermostat calibration or sensor operation.

Performed operational checks of refrigerant levels, compressor operation, fan motors, running amperage, and startup amperage. Cycled both systems through heating operation and checked temperature rise, safety switches and igniter operation.

Client stated the condensate pump for the ductless system was making a gurgling noise. Ran unit for 10 mins and no noise present. Upon inspection, found the condensate filter, drain pan, and pump sensor had significant buildup and debris accumulation. Cleaned the drain pan, filter, and sensor to restore proper operation.

Poured water into the drain pan and verified the condensate pump is operating properly and removing water as designed, with no signs of backflow into the drain pan, and no sounds of gurgling. Informed client that the sensor being coated with wet debris buildup may have caused an inaccurate water-level reading, potentially causing the pump to activate and remove minimal amounts of water, which may have contributed to the gurgling noise.

Ductless system is draining properly and operating as expected at the time of service.

The evaporator coil was replaced under the full warranty coverage. The system underwent pressure testing, confirming integrity at 300 psi. A thorough vacuum process was completed, achieving a level of 500 microns, followed by the charging of the system with R410A refrigerant, bringing it to the factory-specified charge level.

Changed the filter and checked the overall performance of my system interior and exterior unit, answered a couple things I needed clarity on, gave me couple suggestions, and was on his way. No trying to upsell me on anything, he just said the report will be send email. I would never trust anybody else but Hydes!

The immediate response to my needs was something I experienced on the phone contact and that was a ++++ Then what sold me on this company, even before the the inspection and quote for the work to be done, was the face to face contact upon meeting their representative who came to my home. The Greetings with a smile and the No push - No rush conversation was a +++++++++ I did not get service that day but placed order for repair and equipment purchase and got all scheduled the same day.+++++

I found Jonathan's demeanor and professionalism to be very refreshing in this industry. He is a valuable asset to your company. The last two questions are non-applicable because this was warranty work.
