Just wanted to thank you, and especially Chris. When Chris was out at my neighbors' last Friday, I went over (at 4:45 pm) and told him my split (which your company installed) was not putting out cold AC. I admitted that I had tried to do something with the control the day before and that was very likely the problem. He said he'd be right over when he finished the job he was on.
He came over, quickly fixed my mistake, and reexplained how to work the thing. All very positively and kindly after 5 pm on a Friday. What a guy!!!! Please thank him again.

Heating and Cooling Service FAQs
The average cost of replacing an HVAC or ductless system in Palm Desert ranges from $5,000 to $20,000. The price range is determined by a variety of criteria and options, such as system type, size, energy efficiency, time of year purchased, rebates/incentives, equipment manufacturer and labor/installation costs. If you also need to replace ductwork, you can expect to pay an extra for a single-story 2,200-square-foot home.
The filters and coils of an air conditioner must be maintained on a regular basis in order for the unit to work properly and efficiently during the course of its service life. Ignoring required maintenance results in a gradual deterioration in air conditioning effectiveness while increasing energy consumption.
The most crucial maintenance job for ensuring the effectiveness of your air conditioner is to change or clean its filters on a regular basis. The coils of an air conditioner naturally accumulate dirt over time. A clean filter keeps the coils from becoming too dirty to effectively cool your home. Regular maintenance ensures the filters and coils are clean and performing correctly.
The average household pays between $250 and $600 for AC repair. Pricing for this project varies considerably depending on the issue, part, and complexity of the project. Repairing a malfunctioning thermostat, for example, is likely to be less expensive than repairing a central AC system.
Some advantages of installing a heat pump include being able to cool and heat your home (one unit), consuming less energy by being more efficient than a central AC unit and enhancing your indoor air quality.
On average, indoor air quality testing costs between $250 and $300. Indoor air quality testing may detect the presence of numerous pollutants in your home’s air, such as mold and mildew. Contaminants from chemicals and combustion may also be tested for.

A/C stopped working after 2 weeks of service due to a loose wire. Two days after that, the A/C stopped working again due to a different loose wire from initial service. We were without A/C for two days to get parts the first time and for two days because it happened on a weekend the second time. The tech was here half an hour after my call for the third visit. The tech, Daniel, was the same tech during the 2nd and 3rd visits. He was able to diagnose the issue quickly each time and resolve it while maintaining a positive attitude even though the loose wires were not his error. The experience with Daniel and his service rates a 5 but because of the errors made by the first tech, I rated the overall quality and experience a 3.
Upon arrival, performed a complete follow-up diagnostic evaluation of the American Standard package heat-pump system, Model 4WCC4036A1000A, Serial #2203127201, due to concerns documented during a recent home inspection and a subsequent HVAC evaluation indicating a possible evaporator coil refrigerant leak. Reviewed previous company maintenance documentation and recorded operating measurements for comparison. During the previous maintenance visit, this system was found cooling and operating properly with approximately a 19–20°F temperature differential, and there was no documented evidence at that time indicating an active refrigerant leak or evaporator coil failure. Since the previous maintenance visit, another HVAC contractor reportedly determined that the system was low on R-410A refrigerant, added approximately 2 lbs of refrigerant, and recommended evaporator coil replacement based upon a suspected refrigerant leak and residue observed near the evaporator coil/drain pan. Because app

Arrived for recall regarding home not reaching desired temperature following recent partial system replacement. Verified cooling operation and checked temperature/psychrometric readings directly at equipment. Recorded approximately 89°F return air and 60°F supply air, producing approximately a 29°F temperature difference, confirming equipment is actively removing a significant heat load. Checked supply-air temperatures throughout the home. Supply temperatures were approximately 63–65°F near the equipment, gradually increasing into the upper 60s/low 70s at farther registers. Existing manufactured-home ductwork was inspected where accessible. Return ductwork appears minimally/uninsulated and is located beneath the home, consistent with significant return-side heat gain. Additional heat gain is present toward the far end of the home due to substantial window/radiant exposure. Thermostat is also located near an exterior entrance in an area without a dedicated supply register. Cooling equip

We really appreciate the recommendation Steve. Thank you!
Daniel used every method he knew to clean out the condensate line. It apparently drains at this time. However, supposedly, the drain was cleaned thoroughly 3 months ago. It is my opinion that the actual drainage condition was not checked at that time. The drainage line is one inch diameter PVC and should easily be able to accommodate the two AC condensers in our garage. Daniel verified the system by using a hose to input water into the lines. There was no 3/4 PVC caps available to fully pressurize the lines.
Jonathan is a top notch professional. He analyzed the issue, researched the solution, and clearly explained why the cost is what it is.
Brian was great. He’s always professional and informative.

Thor really seemed to know what was wrong with our air unit. We have had a rough time. Thor is very nice to deal with and we appreciate the time he spent going over our problem.
A few years ago we called for service on an emergency basis during an early hot spell in April. My wife had guests from out of town and there was no cool air coming from our system. I called Hyde’s and Thor appeared at the door within ~ 30 minutes and saved the day ! Both Thor and Jonathan have serviced our HVAC system over the past few years. We feel very fortunate to have been able to call HYDES and request appointments with each of them. In September or October I’ll be calling your company again to do some duct work to improve the flow of air to our master bedroom. Thor checked out the problem and gave us information regarding the work that needs to be done. He included a paragraph describing that work on the invoice for today’s visit.
Thank you for the wonderful review and for trusting Hyde's with your HVAC needs over the years, Trent. Thor and Jonathan will be thrilled to hear your kind words, and we look forward to helping you with your ductwork project this fall.
Miguel was great! He gave us confidence the repair was done right and solved the issue quickly. He was extremely thorough and made sure we were aware of all our options. Every person from Hyde’s has been excellent.
