Demand Call – No Cool / Electrical Control Issue Returned to complete repair and replaced the previously diagnosed faulty circuit board. After replacement, tested equipment and found the heating sequence was energizing during a cooling call. Also found the existing thermostat was not powering on. Further inspection found a burnt mark at the contactor, indicating a possible electrical short that may have contributed to damage to the control board and thermostat. Installed a test thermostat to verify equipment operation. With the test thermostat connected, the equipment did not energize unexpectedly. Set thermostat to cooling and verified proper cooling operation. Checked refrigerant levels, voltage, and amperage and confirmed equipment is currently cooling and operating properly. Sent estimate for installation of a customer-supplied thermostat. Member stated they plan to purchase another Nest thermostat. Replace 5 Ton Evaporator Coil in the attic. Disassemble evaporator coil, remove ducting attached and remote return box in order to remove old unit. Replaced evaporator coil and tested and charged system. It was a very tight attic and took us all day to remove and install the new one.
