Just wanted to thank you, and especially Chris. When Chris was out at my neighbors' last Friday, I went over (at 4:45 pm) and told him my split (which your company installed) was not putting out cold AC. I admitted that I had tried to do something with the control the day before and that was very likely the problem. He said he'd be right over when he finished the job he was on.
He came over, quickly fixed my mistake, and reexplained how to work the thing. All very positively and kindly after 5 pm on a Friday. What a guy!!!! Please thank him again.

Heating and Cooling Service FAQs
The average cost of replacing an HVAC or ductless system in Palm Desert ranges from $5,000 to $20,000. The price range is determined by a variety of criteria and options, such as system type, size, energy efficiency, time of year purchased, rebates/incentives, equipment manufacturer and labor/installation costs. If you also need to replace ductwork, you can expect to pay an extra for a single-story 2,200-square-foot home.
The filters and coils of an air conditioner must be maintained on a regular basis in order for the unit to work properly and efficiently during the course of its service life. Ignoring required maintenance results in a gradual deterioration in air conditioning effectiveness while increasing energy consumption.
The most crucial maintenance job for ensuring the effectiveness of your air conditioner is to change or clean its filters on a regular basis. The coils of an air conditioner naturally accumulate dirt over time. A clean filter keeps the coils from becoming too dirty to effectively cool your home. Regular maintenance ensures the filters and coils are clean and performing correctly.
The average household pays between $250 and $600 for AC repair. Pricing for this project varies considerably depending on the issue, part, and complexity of the project. Repairing a malfunctioning thermostat, for example, is likely to be less expensive than repairing a central AC system.
Some advantages of installing a heat pump include being able to cool and heat your home (one unit), consuming less energy by being more efficient than a central AC unit and enhancing your indoor air quality.
On average, indoor air quality testing costs between $250 and $300. Indoor air quality testing may detect the presence of numerous pollutants in your home’s air, such as mold and mildew. Contaminants from chemicals and combustion may also be tested for.

Job Locations and Reviews
The only disappointment related to this experience was obviously not related to Brandon, and that was having to wait until the next day to complete the repair due to the need to order the necessary part, which meant going another 24 hours without air conditioning. Otherwise the experience with Brandon and Hydes was excellent, and I will continue to use their services. Also, Brandon appears to be very knowledgeable and efficient in this field of service.
Multiple error codes with metering device as possible issue (184.01, 184.02) and refrigerant numbers indicate starving evaporator coil but not airflow or low charge. Checked sensors and all in tact, connections all good. Checked ohms for gas temperature sensor and evaporator temperature sensor and both were at proper readings. Checked stepper motor (FIG 2) and all windings properly read around 48ohms. After checking all stepper motor and sensors, closed up fau and rechecked refrigerant numbers and they were good. After opening fau again to check EVC and sensor locations then closing up and low side was dropping again. Intermittent issue with stepper motor. Will order part from Distributor when they open Monday (8/31).
Upon arrival, found the 5-ton system not operating. Client has a Nest thermostat. Found the contactor pushed in. Checked for high voltage and found no voltage at the condenser. Further inspection found a burnt high-voltage wire. Repaired the burnt section by replacing the damaged high-voltage wire with new wiring. Cycled the system and verified proper operation. System is now operating properly and cooling at the time of service. Recommended upgrading the Nest thermostat to an Ecobee due to intermittent issues with the existing Nest thermostat. Also recommended installing a hard-start kit to assist with compressor startup.
Emailed replacement options.
Replace ecm on condensing unit and wired electrical properly. Tested system operation. Check Freon and pressure. Indoor home tempature 91 degrees spoke with client that home will take a few hours to properly cool down. System is operating and cooling home.
Arrived at customer, location, found a drop neutral opened up all receptacles in the kitchen, and on the second circuit that was tied to the same neutral finally found where it had pulled out of a backstabbed outlet.
Upon arrival, the homeowner stated that the master bedroom was hot. She advised that the thermostat was set to 72°F, but the room temperature would unexpectedly increase to 79°F. I inspected the thermostat and found that there was no schedule programmed; however, Eco Mode was enabled. I disabled Eco Mode and adjusted the supply register to improve airflow into the room. I also advised the homeowner that the master bedroom receives significant afternoon heat gain due to the sliding glass door. I proceeded to inspect the package unit and confirmed that the system was engaging properly in both 1 & 2 stage. I placed a thermometer probe in the supply register and measured approximately 59°F. The unit is operating properly at this time. I recommended replacing the thermostat.

Replaced weld-in txv on rooftop package unit. Part warranty for txv, refrigerant and labor charge only. Getting 22° split and refrigerant numbers are good. Informed tenant to give it some time but will definitely be cooling down to thermostat setpoint (78°) now.
Great service and patience to check on our issue.

No unusual noise at this time. Verified equipment is operational though advise is in very poor condition. Contacted home owner and advised to turn unit off for now do to not home to prevent concerns of potential damage. Recommend equipment replacement to prevent multiple potential problems. Client requested estimate for replacement. Emailed 3 equipment options also attached equipment options below. 0% financing for 18 months is available.
Bedroom unit S#3597 blower and compressor are running but condenser fan motor was not. Verified motor is getting supplied proper 240v and at board verified proper 24 volts DC. Board is communicating properly and fan motor is getting supplied proper voltage, condenser fan motor has failed. Will call Lennox and order new condenser fan motor and will give client ETA when motor can be picked up as well a give quote to replace motor. Will schedule return once part is in hand.
Returned for repeat condensate drainage concern. On the previous visit, a Jones valve was installed and the primary condensate line was cleared. Upon return, found the primary drain beginning to back up again, causing water to discharge through the secondary drain. Further inspection found water also escaping from the rear portion of the safety/drain pan area. Existing equipment installation and elevation are contributing to improper drainage and water management. Due to the original installation configuration and equipment height, the current setup does not provide proper containment/drainage in the affected area. Primary condensate line was cleared again and drainage was restored. System was monitored and condensate flow was verified. Member was advised that although the drain can be cleared and maintained, the existing installation configuration remains a contributing factor and will require a more permanent correction to prevent recurring water issues.

Barry was informative and direct . I will choose Hyde for servicing and future replacement
What I would appreciate from Hyde HVAC is your professional opinion on: 1 whether the current A/C is actually cooling within an acceptable range, • the measured supply/return temperature differential, 2 whether refrigerant pressures or compressor performance indicate a mechanical problem, 3 whether the condenser being out of level is materially affecting operation, 4 whether the return-air plenum simply needs cleaning or requires repair, 5 whether the condensate-drain configuration should be corrected, 6 and most importantly, whether any of these findings justify replacement versus normal service and repair. Visual Inspection 2013 goodman Condenser R22 with Rudd 2015 furnace and evaporator coil Homeowner advised ac maintains temperature, however Hyde's cannot answer question 1 or 2 without demand service from our team to check freon levels and temperature split. #3 the condenser not level has no effect on performance whatsoever. 4 the return plenum was not inspected (remove return gr
Client stated no water dripping out of condensation line for garage ductless unit in a while but recently started to drain. Vacuumed condensation line and water drained out. Removed head cover and inspected interior termination/pan and found no obstructions, cleared with co2 and poured water down into pan. Client watched and stated water drained out with no issues. Ductless unit is slopped correctly. System is cooling and draining properly at this time of service.
Upon arrival, client stated that the AC system was not operating, although the blower motor was running. Diagnosed the system and found a bad, swollen 80 µF capacitor, along with a faulty hard-start kit. Replaced both components. The system was still not operating properly, so I checked the high-voltage power and found approximately 59V at the unit. Checked the breaker and confirmed the same voltage reading. With assistance from Amador, replaced the 45-amp Square D breaker. Found square D breaker had arch will send estimate for panel tune up. After repairs, cycled the system and confirmed proper operation. Followed the sequence of operations, checked compressor amperage, and cleared the condensate line to ensure proper drainage. Changed out 20x25 filter. Washed down condenser coils. Renewed client for comfort plan. System is operating properly at this time of service.
Called client no answer called Lennox to order compressor prices went up sent new estimate if client wants compressor for the price of the compressor. Recommend at least a partial system sent estimates for replacement and compressor as well.

Separated all wires at thermostat by kitchen and fau in backyard closet by new condenser. Wasn’t getting any continuity. Did use spare brown wire instead of red wire as it was losing its sheathing. After all that I applied power and as soon as thermostat cover was on it popped. Bad thermostat front, as I used test Honeywell 6000 (discontinued) and system came onl same backplate. No more popping of fuse. Checked charge and it is to specs. Could not get through on phone. Closed up garage and doors, fsu closet. Attached are thermostat quotes.

It was a simple visit. Having problems with my brand new outside unit. A tech was out a couple of weeks ago and changed the fan motor thinking that was the problem, but the tech today will need to order a new compressor to hopefully remedy the issue.
Eli was very thorough and patiently explained all that he found and what work was necessary.
Thoroughly explained the options
Jonathan was friendly and clearly knew about HVAC. He didn’t try to sell us anything, saying our system was in good working order and no repairs or replacement needed. We did get a quote to do some upgrades and the price was quite fair compared to other quotes we got.
He showed up as scheduled and was very informative about the system and thermostat, answering all my questions. Thank you
Technician was timely, communicative, and fast!
Excellent
We lost cooling from a 4.5 year old AV/heat pump due to a leak that developed in a copper pipe in the compressor. Despite mfg. 10 year warrantee we were charged a total of approx. $2,000 to locate the leak, repair it and to recharge with a full amount of refrigerant. The price was quite a shock and the pain was not lessened any by good explanation or preparation by Alex. He worked efficiently but was much more eager to get my credit card signature than to provide a decent explanation for the high cost.
Nice electrical job
qucik and excellent

We called Hyde’s three times about or before 6.30 PM on Friday night as our main AC unit was not working and our house was 93 degrees. The answering service states that there is an emergency service but we didn’t get a call back until at least 9.30. Whether we could have fixed the unit or not wasn’t the issue. We had to make a decision on whether we could stay in our house or find a hotel.
(A very informative! Brandon was very professional and willing to spend time explaining everything!
