Just wanted to thank you, and especially Chris. When Chris was out at my neighbors' last Friday, I went over (at 4:45 pm) and told him my split (which your company installed) was not putting out cold AC. I admitted that I had tried to do something with the control the day before and that was very likely the problem. He said he'd be right over when he finished the job he was on.
He came over, quickly fixed my mistake, and reexplained how to work the thing. All very positively and kindly after 5 pm on a Friday. What a guy!!!! Please thank him again.

Heating and Cooling Service FAQs
The average cost of replacing an HVAC or ductless system in Palm Desert ranges from $5,000 to $20,000. The price range is determined by a variety of criteria and options, such as system type, size, energy efficiency, time of year purchased, rebates/incentives, equipment manufacturer and labor/installation costs. If you also need to replace ductwork, you can expect to pay an extra for a single-story 2,200-square-foot home.
The filters and coils of an air conditioner must be maintained on a regular basis in order for the unit to work properly and efficiently during the course of its service life. Ignoring required maintenance results in a gradual deterioration in air conditioning effectiveness while increasing energy consumption.
The most crucial maintenance job for ensuring the effectiveness of your air conditioner is to change or clean its filters on a regular basis. The coils of an air conditioner naturally accumulate dirt over time. A clean filter keeps the coils from becoming too dirty to effectively cool your home. Regular maintenance ensures the filters and coils are clean and performing correctly.
The average household pays between $250 and $600 for AC repair. Pricing for this project varies considerably depending on the issue, part, and complexity of the project. Repairing a malfunctioning thermostat, for example, is likely to be less expensive than repairing a central AC system.
Some advantages of installing a heat pump include being able to cool and heat your home (one unit), consuming less energy by being more efficient than a central AC unit and enhancing your indoor air quality.
On average, indoor air quality testing costs between $250 and $300. Indoor air quality testing may detect the presence of numerous pollutants in your home’s air, such as mold and mildew. Contaminants from chemicals and combustion may also be tested for.

Compressor overheated will come back tomorrow to allow compressor to cool down and perform diagnostic.
James was professional, friendly and knowledgeable! Diagnosed the problem and quickly resolved! Thank You James. Darlene was awesome on the phone when I requested service!
Upon arrival, turn system on in unit would operate while getting tools and ladder from van. You could hear a squealing noise coming from condenser located on roof. With further inspection, I discovered system had a faulty and swollen. Dual run capacitor measuring zero MFD causing condenser fan motor not to operate and compressor overheating. Install installed new dual run capacitor and test system. System is now operating and cooling properly..
Although showing up at the end of the time period we were given, Fernanda was very friendly and professional. She had been at our house last year and provided excellent service again. I’m confident our air conditioning system will continue to run like a charm!

🛠️🛠️ Demand Service **Unit SN **27316 – Living Room System Upon arrival, client stated the system would cool, but frequent thermostat adjustments would sometimes cause the indoor temperature to rise and the system to stop cooling. Tested thermostat and lowered the setpoint by 10° for diagnostics. Inspected the outdoor unit, checked refrigerant pressures, capacitor, condenser fan motor, and compressor. System was operating within manufacturer specifications. Courtesy: Rinsed condenser coil. 🗣️ Client Communication Explained that the system uses a microchannel condenser coil, which is more sensitive to extreme heat. Recommended replacing the original capacitor and adding a start kit to help reduce startup stress and improve reliability. âś… Client approved the recommended repairs. System is cooling properly at this time. Advised client to choose a comfortable temperature and set it and forget it, as frequent thermostat adjustments during extreme heat can contribute to overheating
Upon arrival, member stated the system was not cooling. Thermostat was calling for cooling; however, neither the indoor nor outdoor equipment was operating. Verified fault code at the control board indicating a circuit-related issue. Performed electrical diagnostics and tested the dual run capacitor. Found the 45/5 MFD capacitor out of manufacturer specifications. Replaced the failed 45/5 MFD capacitor, restored power, and cycled the system. Verified compressor and condenser fan motor started and operated properly. Confirmed compressor amperage, condenser fan amperage, and capacitor readings are within manufacturer specifications. Due to the indoor temperature being approximately 89°F upon arrival, the system exhibited an elevated temperature split immediately following the repair, which is expected while removing the accumulated heat load from the home. Verified conditioned air temperature at the supply measured approximately 61°F with a return air temperature of approximately 89°F. S
On arrival, newly installed unit had error code H4. Upon further diagnosis was able to get system back up and running at this time see notes no one home at the time of arrival did call a homeowner and let homeowner system is back up and running. Two days an annual cooling preventative maintenance consisted of one American standard unit located on the side of the home. I first began with ensuring that the Honeywell thermostat is properly calling for cooling and turning the unit on with no errors occurring. I then verified that the system is properly calling for cooling and being turned on then clear the condensation line thoroughly to ensure that it is properly draining at this time of service with no obstructions to the line. The amp in the system are safely, checking out in the correct range and ensuring a controlled voltage is being used. Following with the capacitor also testing out safely for the correct range. I also ensure that the filter has been cleaned properly to ensure that proper airflow is able to circulate back to the system at minimal resistance. Overall, this system is operating to the manufacture specs at this time of today’s annual cooling preventative maintenance.

I have been a customer of Hyde’s for quite a while, and the service is always excellent. I even have the customer care package on both homes and got both of my homes ACs from them. No complaints, however, it would’ve been nice, as a good and loyal customer, not to have been charged the service fee since it was obvious that it was the power outage after all.
Arrived at customer’s home to diagnose multiple circuits non op throughout home. Upon arrival I found that power was out for everyone in the area. Found that only some circuits were on the battery backup panel, but not the ac unit. Informed customer that ac was not on battery backup panel, and that battery needs to be upgraded or replaced with a bigger one to accommodate an ac unit. Also informed customer that if anything still doesn’t work when the power comes back on to give us a call. Tested all feeder lugs in panel to verify no power and complete scope of work for today.
Upon arrival, member stated the ductless mini-split located in the garage was leaking water from the indoor unit. Performed a visual inspection and verified the indoor evaporator coil was clean and free of debris. Inspected and flushed the condensate drain line through the exterior termination and verified the obstruction was cleared. Confirmed proper condensate drainage after flushing and verified no further leaks were present at the time of departure. Ductless system was not installed by our company. System is operating properly at this time

Lost our AC and Danny explained the problem
Upon arrival, neighbor stated that one of the units is slowly rising in temperature. The living room unit is set to 88 and was reading 96 inside House found outdoor unit non-operational found an overheated compressor after cooling down compressor system started up and started to cool down the house properly. coming out at 60° from supply called the homeowner and inform homeowner on the situation. No answer at this time check other unit and all electrical components are within range as well as refrigerant. System is cooling down the house properly. Both systems are way past life expectancy, and would highly recommend replacing both to prevent further breakdowns in units during the summer. Called both number on homeowners account got no response. Still need to charge for getting system back up and working at this time.
Returned to equipment due to intermittent breaker trip concern. Isolated condenser fan motor from compressor circuit and operated equipment for approximately 15 minutes. Condenser fan motor operated continuously with no breaker trip. Reintroduced compressor into the circuit and immediately observed abnormal grinding noise from compressor during startup. Compressor operation became unstable, confirming intermittent internal mechanical failure. Black residue was also observed during gauge removal, further supporting compressor failure. Informed member of findings and built estimate for replacement of condensing unit. Due to equipment location, a crane will be required for installation. Office to contact member to schedule replacement. Credit from previous diagnostic visit has been applied toward replacement agreement

Brayan was very personable and thorough.
Performed a cooling maintenance on a 2017 American Standard package unit, changed 20x30 filter, filter located in ceiling, flushed condensation line, check for thermostat, on unit check for amperage and voltage, check for compressor, check for freon level, check for temperature split, checked for disconnect box, everything within range also clear out dust accumulated inside electrical component area and rinsed unit coil. Diagnostic on 3 ton 2009 package unit. Equipment struggling to condition home when temps outside are above 112. Performed diagnostic and found equipment operating with 18 temp split. Added one pound of refrigerant. Temp split 19. Equipment is working as best as possible. Equipment struggling do to age and cannot handle heat load during extreme temperatures. Home does have add on room additions causing unit to work harder then designed .
Great
Our technician, Daniel was prompt and thorough. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and answered all of our questions. We would welcome him back to service our equipment again in the future.
Daniel was on time and knew his business. We tried to figure out the problem but he checked everything and it was ok. He determined it was probably an electronic glitch in the thermostat and should be ok. I will follow it and call if it happens again.
Excellent service
Service tech was very thorough, knowledgeable and friendly.
The technician was thorough and explained everything!!
Christopher is outstanding at every level, it was great to see him again today. I would most appreciate it if he could continue to service my American Standard units for future maintenance. What a star!

I was very happy with the team who came to replace my HVAC. They were super professional and very kind. I would certainly recommend Hyde’s. They are not the cheapest - but I feel secure that the job was done correctly.
Thank you so much Sandy! We really appreciate your wonderful review and for trusting Hyde's with your HVAC replacement. We're thrilled our team provided you with professional and kind service, and we truly appreciate your recommendation.
Craig was terrific. Glad he could come very quickly. He was thorough. Even though it seems that only issue was circuit breaker, he took time to check and make sure system was functioning properly
Thank you for the wonderful feedback about Craig's service. We are pleased he could respond quickly and take the time to thoroughly check your entire system to ensure everything was working properly.
Please read my Hyde’s HVAC Unit opinion. #1. Hyde’s customer service Gal who answers the phone & Technicians are Excellent. I purchased the most expensive extended HVAC warranty 2-3 days before standard new warranty period ended. REASON: Since I purchased Unit I’ve had problems/part failures $$ and $service calls. In fact, it was my understanding that the unit I purchased was reliable. Today, Saturday July 25th, unit broke again (July 2025 broke internal part failure). Unhappy that 1 condenser fastener needed to be tightened. Causing other needed adjustments. Fortunately he was able to fix & not components(s) broken. Explanation was the outside higher temps causes the exterior unit to rattle/vibrate enough to loosen the condenser fastener(s). Advised it happens often. As mentioned, I’m very disappointed. My Unit is only 2+ years old.
When the blower motor burned out during a 110-degree day, James was at our house within hours. He quickly diagnosed the issue and ordered not only the part needed but also an additional part that might be impacted once the new motor was installed. Although we were without a/c for 2 days, James kept us informed frequently about the timeline for getting parts delivered. He is very customer oriented and a pleasure to have as the tech who got our a/c working again! Thanks to Hyde's staff and their outstanding tech, James.
Thank you for the great review Mary!
I love heights. You’re the only company that doesn’t take advantage of me.

Brayan Torres-Diaz did an excellent job. On-time, friendly, communicated thoroughly and clearly. Great service.
Just as with Phase 1 , Fred and the Hyde’s Team did excellent work! This part of the project was especially complex but the Team were persistent and worked hard to get everything right. Expecting another visit to finish phase 2 and then when a transformer is delivered to finish up with phase 1.
Great
Friendly excellent service
Craig spent a lot of time explaining what he was looking for & showing me examples
Shocked. Learned.
Hi Sid, we're sorry to hear you were disappointed. We're not sure which part of the experience was shocking, as our NATE-certified technician reviewed the price with you and received your approval before installing the part. We do understand your comment "Learned." After installing the part, our technician removed it at your request, and you mentioned that you now knew how to install it yourself. While it's not our normal practice to make a service call to teach customers how to perform repairs themselves at no charge, our technician felt that was the best way to resolve the situation for you.
Boy, am I glad this guy is on the Hyde's Team. Fred arrived with a teammate and they both got to work on solving my electrical problem. Within a few hours they found the problem and solved it. My electricity problem was gone. Thanks
We're thrilled Fred and his teammate could quickly diagnose and resolve your electrical issue and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your positive experience with our Hyde's team.
He is the one we always ask for. Polite, honest and efficient. Excellent service.
He’s a very nice and presentable young man that did a great job and explained everything
