Just wanted to thank you, and especially Chris. When Chris was out at my neighbors' last Friday, I went over (at 4:45 pm) and told him my split (which your company installed) was not putting out cold AC. I admitted that I had tried to do something with the control the day before and that was very likely the problem. He said he'd be right over when he finished the job he was on.
He came over, quickly fixed my mistake, and reexplained how to work the thing. All very positively and kindly after 5 pm on a Friday. What a guy!!!! Please thank him again.

Heating and Cooling Service FAQs
The average cost of replacing an HVAC or ductless system in Palm Desert ranges from $5,000 to $20,000. The price range is determined by a variety of criteria and options, such as system type, size, energy efficiency, time of year purchased, rebates/incentives, equipment manufacturer and labor/installation costs. If you also need to replace ductwork, you can expect to pay an extra for a single-story 2,200-square-foot home.
The filters and coils of an air conditioner must be maintained on a regular basis in order for the unit to work properly and efficiently during the course of its service life. Ignoring required maintenance results in a gradual deterioration in air conditioning effectiveness while increasing energy consumption.
The most crucial maintenance job for ensuring the effectiveness of your air conditioner is to change or clean its filters on a regular basis. The coils of an air conditioner naturally accumulate dirt over time. A clean filter keeps the coils from becoming too dirty to effectively cool your home. Regular maintenance ensures the filters and coils are clean and performing correctly.
The average household pays between $250 and $600 for AC repair. Pricing for this project varies considerably depending on the issue, part, and complexity of the project. Repairing a malfunctioning thermostat, for example, is likely to be less expensive than repairing a central AC system.
Some advantages of installing a heat pump include being able to cool and heat your home (one unit), consuming less energy by being more efficient than a central AC unit and enhancing your indoor air quality.
On average, indoor air quality testing costs between $250 and $300. Indoor air quality testing may detect the presence of numerous pollutants in your home’s air, such as mold and mildew. Contaminants from chemicals and combustion may also be tested for.

Job Locations and Reviews
I was very happy with the team who came to replace my HVAC. They were super professional and very kind. I would certainly recommend Hyde’s. They are not the cheapest - but I feel secure that the job was done correctly.
Upon arrival, found outdoor unit inoperative with no power being applied. Traced high-voltage power back to the disconnect and verified proper 240 VAC was present on the line side. Tested both 40-amp disconnect fuses and found them open, preventing power from reaching the equipment. Replaced both fuses and restored power to the system. Performed a complete operational and electrical inspection, verifying compressor amperage, condenser fan motor amperage, and compressor inrush current were all operating within manufacturer specifications. Verified run capacitor tested within rated tolerance. Inspected all high-voltage wiring, electrical connections, contactor, and disconnect for loose, burnt, or damaged wiring and found no abnormalities at this time. System operated normally through multiple cycles after fuse replacement and cooling the home properly.
Craig was terrific. Glad he could come very quickly. He was thorough. Even though it seems that only issue was circuit breaker, he took time to check and make sure system was functioning properly
After Diagnostic found high voltage fuse was blown tighten disconnect contactor, and electrical panel customer supplied and installed his own high voltage fuse unit is up and cooling
Check breaker panel checked AC check thermostat check disconnect. Everything seems OK and operational at this time.
Upon arrival system was on and cooling reason for visit thermostat was not responding. Reset thermostat. Thermostat is now responding to zoning and temperature happens again. We will replace the thermostat.
Upon arrival bedroom area blower was running not condenser after diagnostic found trip breaker. Reset breaker unit is up and cooling.
Upon arrival both units where on and cooling client stated living room area is not keeping temperature checked pressures at range can’t add any more freon our unit will go off on high head pressures advised client systems are working properly it’s just hot outside sent estimate for replacing 4 ton to 5

Please read my Hyde’s HVAC Unit opinion. #1. Hyde’s customer service Gal who answers the phone & Technicians are Excellent. I purchased the most expensive extended HVAC warranty 2-3 days before standard new warranty period ended. REASON: Since I purchased Unit I’ve had problems/part failures $$ and $service calls. In fact, it was my understanding that the unit I purchased was reliable. Today, Saturday July 25th, unit broke again (July 2025 broke internal part failure). Unhappy that 1 condenser fastener needed to be tightened. Causing other needed adjustments. Fortunately he was able to fix & not components(s) broken. Explanation was the outside higher temps causes the exterior unit to rattle/vibrate enough to loosen the condenser fastener(s). Advised it happens often. As mentioned, I’m very disappointed. My Unit is only 2+ years old.
Today’s an annual cooling preventative maintenance consisted of two systems located in the side of the home. I first began with replacing both of the filters, went upstairs in the upflow closet, and one in the garage. Replacing both of these filters ensure that proper airflow is able to circulate back to the system at minimal resistance. I then verified that both of the Honeywell thermostats are properly calling for cooling and turning the unit on with no errors occurring. All of the cooling sequence of operations are successfully checking out for both of these units ensuring that there is a proper 20° split between the liquid lines and the section lines which ensures that the home is cooling efficiently to the desire temperature. I thoroughly cleared out the condensation line to ensure that it is properly draining at this time of service with no instructions to the line. Each capacitor is also testing all safely for its rated amount ensuring that the home is cooling efficiently. The c
After Diagnostic found system low on Freon added 3 pounds we will monitor Freon levels system is cooling properly at this time
FAU breaker was tripped
Upon arrival, member stated the cooling system was not operating. Performed diagnostic testing and found both cartridge fuses within the outdoor disconnect to be open, preventing proper line voltage from reaching the outdoor unit. Replaced both disconnect fuses and restored power to the equipment. Verified proper 230 VAC line voltage to the outdoor unit and confirmed proper DC communication voltage between the indoor and outdoor equipment. Allowed the inverter system to complete its communication sequence, after which the condensing unit resumed normal operation. Inspected and tightened all accessible electrical connections to ensure they were secure. Verified system serial number ending in D7HF was operating properly and confirmed the equipment was cooling normally upon completion of testing.
Upon arrival, member stated equipment that supplied the room was not operating. Member stated he also tried to reset breakers and nothing happened. Verified that breaker was reset and found breaker not properly reset. Reset breaker and Maytag condenser started operating. (the data plate has been wiped off condensing unit. Do not know serial number) sounds starting as succeeding specifications installed compressor saver kit to assist compressor at startup. Verified running amps and amps and temperature split of 19° also filed a condensing coil dirty, Maytag condenser is micro channel subcool of 8° informed the member it will take time for system two weeks temperature due to humidity and heat. System is cooling and operating properly at this time.
Upon arrival, the equipment was off. After cycling the system on, verified the equipment initially started and operated normally. While troubleshooting the member’s concern, further inspection revealed the compressor HERM terminal wire was not properly secured to the run capacitor terminal, creating an intermittent electrical connection that could cause the compressor to operate abnormally, produce excessive noise, and short cycle. Reconnected and secured the HERM terminal, then verified proper compressor operation. Refrigerant pressures were found to be elevated, with head pressure approaching the high-pressure safety limit. Recovered a small amount of refrigerant and verified final operating readings within manufacturer specifications, with subcooling at the manufacturer’s target of 8°F. Also verified the condensate drain line was clear and flowing properly, inspected the condensate safety switch and removed a small amount of standing water from the switch reservoir. Replaced the 24x
When the blower motor burned out during a 110-degree day, James was at our house within hours. He quickly diagnosed the issue and ordered not only the part needed but also an additional part that might be impacted once the new motor was installed. Although we were without a/c for 2 days, James kept us informed frequently about the timeline for getting parts delivered. He is very customer oriented and a pleasure to have as the tech who got our a/c working again! Thanks to Hyde's staff and their outstanding tech, James.
🛠️🛠️ On arrival tech was informed that system was not able to maintain temperature Want to thermostat and it was calling for cooling and everything seem to be working Went to equipment for further investigation (rooftop package unit) Micro channel coil, capacitor, fan motor, compressor, amps and voltage. Check refrigerant and temperature split 🗣️ Called homeowner Recommend replacing weak capacitor And Hydes family comfort club Cleared condensation line, replaced capacitor replace replaced 20 x 20 filter And gave condenser a good cleaning âś… System is now operating properly and within the limits Preformed first maintenance
Upon arrival, the member stated the ductless unit in the garage was leaking. Upon inspection, removed the line set cover and found exposed line set insulation, allowing condensation to form and drip. Secured the insulation with zip ties and sealed the exposed area using mastic tape to properly insulate the line set and prevent further condensation. Informed the member that, due to condensing unit being on roof some residual moisture may still be present and minor condensation could continue temporarily. At this time, the line set is properly insulated and operating as intended.

Arrived on site and found both A/C breakers in the OFF position. Upon inspection, it was determined that the disconnects and fuse sizes were installed on the wrong units. The disconnect on the left is wired with conductors appropriate for approximately a 20-30 amp circuit, while the disconnect on the right is wired with conductors appropriate for a 50 amp circuit. Currently, the right disconnect is feeding the smaller A/C unit, which has an operating amp draw of approximately 35 amps. The left disconnect is feeding the larger unit with #12 AWG conductors and is protected by 40-amp fuses, which is not appropriate for the conductor size. The disconnects, overcurrent protection, and conductor sizing do not match the equipment they are serving. This creates an unsafe condition and does not comply with proper electrical installation practices. Recommendation: Swap the disconnects so each A/C unit is served by the correctly sized conductors. Install the proper fuse sizes and circuit break

Just as with Phase 1 , Fred and the Hyde’s Team did excellent work! This part of the project was especially complex but the Team were persistent and worked hard to get everything right. Expecting another visit to finish phase 2 and then when a transformer is delivered to finish up with phase 1.
Great
Friendly excellent service
Craig spent a lot of time explaining what he was looking for & showing me examples
Shocked. Learned.
Hi Sid, we're sorry to hear you were disappointed. We're not sure which part of the experience was shocking, as our NATE-certified technician reviewed the price with you and received your approval before installing the part. We do understand your comment "Learned." After installing the part, our technician removed it at your request, and you mentioned that you now knew how to install it yourself. While it's not our normal practice to make a service call to teach customers how to perform repairs themselves at no charge, our technician felt that was the best way to resolve the situation for you.
Boy, am I glad this guy is on the Hyde's Team. Fred arrived with a teammate and they both got to work on solving my electrical problem. Within a few hours they found the problem and solved it. My electricity problem was gone. Thanks
We're thrilled Fred and his teammate could quickly diagnose and resolve your electrical issue and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your positive experience with our Hyde's team.
He is the one we always ask for. Polite, honest and efficient. Excellent service.
He’s a very nice and presentable young man that did a great job and explained everything

She was friendly and nice
New system was installed, and quit working shortly afterwards. James came out and corrected the problem very quickly and got it working again. Very knowledgeable and very helpful.
Very good information from the technician
Fernanda was very pleasant and professional.
Tech added 2 lbs of refrigerant and claimed the ac was working correctly. Left thermostat at 79 degrees around noon and at 8:30 pm the condo was not lower than 87 degrees. Paid over $600 for 2 lbs of refrigerant and it did not work. If zero stars were available that would be my rating but I had to settle for one. To make it worse I did not hear from the technician on the results of the adding refrigerant and had to call the office. Office confirmed unit is working correctly.
We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience. When our technician arrived, the system had been turned off and the indoor temperature was over 100°F. Under those conditions, reducing the temperature to 87°F by that evening indicates the system was cooling, especially considering the unit is 23 years old. The total charge of just over $600 included not only the refrigerant but also the trip charge and diagnostic service. We understand this wasn't the outcome you were hoping for, and we're sorry you were frustrated by the communication afterward. We appreciate your feedback and wish we had the opportunity to discuss your concerns further.
Daniel is a very “cool” guy!!
He located issue and fixed
