2017 American Standard Platinum split system #W81F homeowner heard loud air/humming/whistle vibration sound in bedroom behind fau outside closet. Error 126 and outdoor unit offline, but was still running and had 13.4vdc. Usually outdoor unit doesn’t run, homeowner did state at night sometimes it didn’t feel like it was cooling properly. Only. 2 comm flashes at fau and condenser. Used spare legacy wires , used white at condenser for data, and blue at condenser for common. Recycled power to both units, cycled condenser on first, then fau after. 30 seconds. After thermostat display came on, no more red alert at top. Proper number of comm flashes at day and condenser. System cooling properly now. During diagnostic heard blower ramp up to 100% and that’s going to cause the noise issue. Once system is communicating properly fan sped and compressor capacity matched up with indoor temp and setpoint differential. Most likely with outdoor unit and compressor/ drive not communicating the blower

Performed a cooling maintenance on a 2024 American Standard Platinum series condenser, condenser located on right side of home, filter located inside Acucclean , fau located in attic, washed filter, flushed condensation line, on condenser check for amperage and voltage, check for compressor, check for freon level, check if thermostat had no error codes or alerts, everything within range , clear out dust accumulated inside electrical component area and rinsed condenser coil. System is working within specification in cooling at the time of maintenance. .

So that the home could be cold efficiently to the desire temperature. I then thoroughly washed the coils down of the system to remove all dirt debris that may have accumulated. Performed annual cooling maintenance on a 2014 American Standard 4ton split system. Upflow fau is located in garage. Rinsed washable filter located in blower compartment. Cleared condensation line, client covered tub drain so condensate doesn’t clear out into tub. Followed sequence of operations and checked voltage, amperage, capacitor, hard start kit, temperature split, Freon levels, and rinsed condenser coils. Capacitor measured on the lower end of good. Rated for 35uF +-6% currently reading 33.2 if. Recommended and sent quote to replace capacitor to prevent any potential issues in the summer time. Zoning checked out okay. Honeywell 8000 and 6000 thermostats checked out operational. System is working properly in cooling at this time of service.

Cooling service on Bosch rooftop package unit. Changed out 20 x 30 filter located on lower wall. Cleared all electrical components of dust and debris, verified proper sequence of operation, verified refrigerant levels and temperature split 19.4° and cycled equipment. Thermostat checked out OK, cleared condensation line and washed conducting coil. System is within manufacturers specifications at cooling and operating properly at this time of service. Also recommended a surge protection to protect equipment from unexpected surgeons that are not covered by Hydes. Will send over estimate.
