Just wanted to thank you, and especially Chris. When Chris was out at my neighbors' last Friday, I went over (at 4:45 pm) and told him my split (which your company installed) was not putting out cold AC. I admitted that I had tried to do something with the control the day before and that was very likely the problem. He said he'd be right over when he finished the job he was on.
He came over, quickly fixed my mistake, and reexplained how to work the thing. All very positively and kindly after 5 pm on a Friday. What a guy!!!! Please thank him again.

Heating and Cooling Service FAQs
The average cost of replacing an HVAC or ductless system in Palm Desert ranges from $5,000 to $20,000. The price range is determined by a variety of criteria and options, such as system type, size, energy efficiency, time of year purchased, rebates/incentives, equipment manufacturer and labor/installation costs. If you also need to replace ductwork, you can expect to pay an extra for a single-story 2,200-square-foot home.
The filters and coils of an air conditioner must be maintained on a regular basis in order for the unit to work properly and efficiently during the course of its service life. Ignoring required maintenance results in a gradual deterioration in air conditioning effectiveness while increasing energy consumption.
The most crucial maintenance job for ensuring the effectiveness of your air conditioner is to change or clean its filters on a regular basis. The coils of an air conditioner naturally accumulate dirt over time. A clean filter keeps the coils from becoming too dirty to effectively cool your home. Regular maintenance ensures the filters and coils are clean and performing correctly.
The average household pays between $250 and $600 for AC repair. Pricing for this project varies considerably depending on the issue, part, and complexity of the project. Repairing a malfunctioning thermostat, for example, is likely to be less expensive than repairing a central AC system.
Some advantages of installing a heat pump include being able to cool and heat your home (one unit), consuming less energy by being more efficient than a central AC unit and enhancing your indoor air quality.
On average, indoor air quality testing costs between $250 and $300. Indoor air quality testing may detect the presence of numerous pollutants in your home’s air, such as mold and mildew. Contaminants from chemicals and combustion may also be tested for.

Christopher was super., he arrived on time and knew exactly what to do and where to begin. He has been to my place a couple of times and knew what to do. I feel like he is a personal friend, not just a service repairman! Great job!
They came out the same day I called. Very polite, professional and knowledgeable. Would use these guys again in a heartbeat.
Client stated she’s freezing at 77 degrees. Fan mode is on circulate due to Reme halo installed today. Walked client on how to use focus 8000. Turned circulate mode off.
🔧 Service Type: Demand Service 📍 Client Concern: Upon arrival, the client stated that when the thermostat is set to cool, the system turns on but the indoor blower motor does not start. 🧪 System Check: Set the thermostat to cool to verify the issue. As the client described, the system attempted to run, but the indoor blower motor did not activate while the rest of the system appeared to be operating. 🔍 Further Inspection: Accessed the equipment in the attic for further diagnosis. Found the system in lockout with a 10-flash error code, indicating the blower motor is not communicating with the control board. ⚙️ Diagnosis Notes: The blower motor is a programmed/variable-speed motor, which limited further testing in the field. At this time, I was unable to definitively determine whether the issue is the blower motor itself or the control board. 📞 Parts Availability: Contacted Howard’s to check availability of the blower motor. ⏳ Next Steps: Howard’s will follow up with the techn

Cooling service on 2022 American Standard platinum with POV system. Change out 20 x 30 filter located in ceiling. Cleared all electrical components of dust and debris, verified proper sequence of operation, zero error codes at CEA or thermostat. Washed condensing coils and cleared condensation line. System is within manufacturers specifications, and cooling and operating properly at this time of service. Renewed annual comfort plan with member.
Performed annual cooling maintenance on a 2012 American Standard 4ton package unit. Replaced 20x30 filter located in lower wall. Followed sequence of operations and checked voltage, amperage, capacitor, hard start kit, temperature split, Freon levels, and rinsed condenser coils. Honeywell 6000 thermostat checked out operational. System is working properly in cooling at this time of service.

Alert 126 loss off low voltage control to outside unit. Used additional wire available to complete circuit. Equipment now working properly according to manufacturer specifications.
Homeowner informed me it seems it short cycles. He shuts off system overnight and it’ll work fine after. I checked rooftop condenser (3/2017 Trane) and found all loads operational, capacitors not swollen, issue is refrigerant levels are low. Based off what the homeowner is experiencing it sounds like system, is icing up , at least partially, and once the evaporator coil is even partially blocked with ice this will cause system to short cycle as there is limited or no airflow. Recommended performing a leak search or system replacement. Leak search is required in order to either : 1. Replace the leaking coil or 2. Repair the leak. Homeowner signed estimate for leak search, evaporator coil in master closet attic. I will be returning this Thursday (3/19) to perform leak search. Once location of leak is determined I can properly go over their options to resolve the issue that works best for them as far as what’s best for longevity and financially. I added 2 lbs of r410a and system is now co
Revised estimate for replacing exhaust fan with light kit. Break down of labor and materials with tax included.
Arrived to photograph the main panel and subpanel. Additionally, captured images of all circuit breakers to ensure an accurate count.
Performed a precision tune-up on a 2006 Gibson 4-ton split system. The upflow FAU is located in the garage. Replaced the 20x25 air filter located in the blower compartment and cleared the condensate drain line. Completed a full sequence of operation and checked system voltage, amperage, capacitors, temperature split, refrigerant levels, and rinsed the condenser coils. The 60µF capacitor is testing below manufacturer specifications, currently reading 55µF. As a capacitor weakens, the compressor must work harder and draw higher amperage during startup, which can eventually lead to starting issues. Recommended replacement of the capacitor. The compressor is also over-amping at startup, measuring 111/97 LRA. Recommended installing a hard start kit, which helps reduce starting amperage and reduces strain on the compressor during startup. This is a preventative upgrade that can help extend compressor life. The system is low on refrigerant and currently cooling with a 17° temperature split
Performed annual maintenance on a 2018 3-ton Lennox split system. Client had already replaced the 14x25 filter prior to service. Followed full sequence of operations including checking refrigerant levels, amperage, and inspecting all motors. Cleared the condensation drain line to ensure proper drainage. Capacitor tested and is still within manufacturer specifications. Refrigerant levels were found to be slightly low. Advised the client and recommended adding one pound of refrigerant; client approved. Also recommended enrolling in the Comfort Plan for future maintenance discounts and priority service. System is operating properly at the time of service.
Client concerned with excessive dust and allergies. Installed Reme halo air purification system. Recommend Hyde’s family comfort plan.
Performed a cooling maintenance on a 2020 American Standard Platinum series condenser, condenser located on right side of home, filter located hallway ceiling, fau located in attic, changed filter, flushed condensation line, on condenser check for amperage and voltage, check for compressor, check for freon level, check if thermostat had no error codes or alerts, everything within range , clear out dust accumulated inside electrical component area and rinsed condenser coil. System is working within specification in cooling at the time of maintenance. .
Performed annual cooling maintenance on 2018 and 2014 American Standard Platinum split systems. FAUs are located in garage upflow and attic horizontal. Replaced 20x30, 20x20, and rinsed washable filter located in blower compartment. Followed sequence of operations and checked voltage, amperage, temperature split, Freon levels, tested condensation pumps and assured proper drainage, and rinsed condenser coils. Found no error codes on CDA. Reset service reminders. 1050 thermostats are working properly. Serviced and rinsed washable filters for ductless unit. Both systems are cooling properly at this time of service.
Routine maintenance AC check.
Performed ac cooling maintenance on (2) York package units on roof and did our courtesy check of garage ductless (clean filters, clean condenser coil, temp split, check all loads running, remote working). Homeowner filters were like new, they had systems off during winter , left spare Lakes filters. Honeywell 6000 thermostats both operational (turn systems on, adjust temps) however bedroom thermostat buttons aren’t properly responsive to touch and should be replaced) recommended Honeywell N200 for most similar model as they no longer make his current model anymore and he doesn’t want/use scheduling feature. Cleaned rooftop condenser coils. Inspected evaporator coils and blown wheels. Checked refrigerant charge/temperature splits. Checked start and run capacitors, amps, volts. Systems are cooling down home properly and all readings were within system specs. However I did inform that even with all my readings checking out I cannot say these are good for another summer or any kind of life
Performed annual maintenance on 2023 5 ton platinum series American standard split system. Changed out 20x30 and 20x20 filters. Followed sequence of operation checked Freon levels, amperage, alerts , and all electrical components. 1050 checked operational finding no active alerts on system. No signs of restrictions or leaks. He did a good job!
Completely satisfied with Taylor. He was thorough and informative.
We have never had a service person who did a more thorough and professional job as was done by Brandon Osuno. He took the time to do our inspection correctly, replacing the filters and troubleshooting a problem with water in the pan below the air conditioning unit. He also blew some nasty looking debris out of the PVC pipe that probably will solve the problem with the overflow pan. Additionally, he came out a second time to install an air purifier system. He deserves special recognition for his excellent service, patiently answering all our questions and addressing all our concerns. Hyde’s is lucky to have such an outstanding employee and we will request Brandon to do our biannual HVAC checks from now on.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback! We’re so glad to hear about the great experience you had with Brandon. He takes a lot of pride in being thorough and making sure everything is done the right way, so it’s great to know his efforts made a difference. From clearing the PVC line to installing your air purifier and taking the time to answer all your questions, Brandon truly represents the level of service we strive to provide. We appreciate your trust in Hyde’s and look forward to seeing you at your next biannual maintenance!
