Removed the drain hoses and cleared the condensate line of accumulated buildup. Disconnected and cleared both P-traps, including the condensate P-trap, to ensure all accessible restrictions were removed. Cleared buildup from the sink drain attachment and ensured the condensate drainage pathway was free of obstructions. Repair Status: Condensate line and both P-traps cleared of accumulated buildup.

Further inspection revealed a swollen and leaking 35/7.5 MFD dual-run capacitor. Replaced the defective capacitor with a new 35/7.5 MFD capacitor. Cycled the equipment and verified proper operation of the compressor and condenser fan motor. Tested compressor starting amperage (inrush) and verified compressor and condenser fan motor running amperages. The thermostat was reading 83°F upon arrival and decreased to 78°F upon completion of service. System Status: Equipment is now cooling and operating properly.

Arrived at customer’s home to diagnose gfci outlet still tripping that rainbird is plugged into. When testing system upon arrival I was not able to make gfci outlet trip. I isolated rainbird system using a gfci outlet whip and still as not able to get gfci to trip. Customer was still not confident in circuit holding, so I came up with a plan to put rainbird on a different circuit using switch on other side of wall. Will penetrate out of the back of the switch box and set a gfci outlet to only protect rainbird system. Fred only.
